i might go. i've been so freakin bored these past couple of days, this will be a good way to get me out of the house. probably won't run b/c last time i went my wheel and rear lower quarter panel was covered in the black goo from the track. it was a PITA to remove.

FWIW - I've used an 'Orange Cleaner' from the dollar store to easily clean up oil, tar and grease messes from the car. The main ingredient is supposed to be citrus oil. Somebody blew out the bottom end of their engine and covered the road with oil and it was dripping from my wheel wells and all over the side of the car. I just sprayed it on and all the oil hosed right off a few seconds later. No scrubbing. It worked so good I am afraid to leave it on the paint too long. On the rubber bits from dragstrip burnouts, I just sprayed a little and rubbed it around with my fingers to dissolve it all away. It seems to accelerate corosion on bare metal so stay away from there. For a buck, it's amazing.

Just in case you decide not to watch.

thanks 2002Z28SSConv, last time i used half a bottle of bug and tar remover. it seriously took like 45 min of elbow grese to get it off the paint. if i go i'll try that orange cleaner.

Put a couple of coats of Zaino on the rear quarter panels before you go. If you use Zaino do not wipe it off until after you are finished at the track. WD-40 is also a good product for removing the tar and tire bits from the paint. Just don't let it sit on there for a real long time.

I never tried it, but have been told if you spray some Pam (vegitable oil non-stick stuff) on your panel, the goo won't stick to it

Just do not wash the car... solves that problem... :)

I agree I have foud osme citrus/water based degreasers that doo well. We buy simple green at work and it comes free with a little squirt bottle of lemon scentd simple green worked pretty well.

I might make it out, I my girlfriend wnats to run her new Z24, and I might just want to play with my new torque arm, probable still get ass times my car runs fine but definitely not in tip top track conditions.

Just leave wax on your lower rear quaters before you go, then wipe off at the end of the night. That easy...

hahaha! No burnouts for me Keith. Just want to get a baseline on the car before anything is done.. Not like I'll be doing anything for a good while anyways.. Just figured hell, might as well if other guys are going to go. But I will definnitely remember that next time the green one gets taken out there :)

track sucked... couldn't pull better than a 2.3 60 foot time... and that was babying it.

ran 3 times then left, didn't feel like beating on the car like that for crappy 60 foot times

ehh... Jsut keep going out, whne i did my gears, lsd, and lighter driveshaft, I ran exactly the same times as I used to do before all the stuff. After soem practice Itook abotu .4 consitently off my times.

Also some nights that track just blows....

I wish they had one night a month where they really prepped the track like they do for an event, jsut charge $17 instead $15

Or, since they already @ss rape you for $15, they could just stop being cheap asses and prep the damn track. If you're gonna charge that much, you should be able to get better traction there than you can on the street. Hell, I bet I can pull better 60' times across an intersection!

Yeah , I really thought the TA would do better then it did last night, but I got a best of 14.0 @ 101, In an LS1.. It just did not seem right, but when I saw LS1's running super low last night I did not feel all that bad. Best sixty I got was like a 2.18 , it was rediculous , God I forgot how bad street tires really are. I didn't think a stock automatic ls1 with 2.73's would spin off the line, it barely does on the street. Track needs prepping off the line.
To prove it, buddys of mine that have AWD turbo cars were spinning out of the whole, thats bad when you see that done.
