Hey
Well lately when I first take off......my speedometer doesn't even move for about 20/30 seconds. After that it goes up to about where I'm running and starts wobbling. Lately I don't even think it's been accurate....I'm guessing it's 5 under. It still wobbles even after driving for hours. Does anyone have any idea's? Thanks
also please check out my post about the energy problem:cool:

what year? it could be an old/worn speedo cable if it's a mechanical speedo, if electric, I don't know, maybe someone else here has an idea.

It's a 1991 Camaro RS 305 Automatic....not sure if it's mechanical or electric :-/

Its electric....two large multi wired connections plug into the back of it. Maybe youve got a loose wire? When mt tach went nuts it turned out that the tach wire was screwed. I just ran a new wire to the coil fromt the connection on the firewall and shes all good.

Drop the lower dash pad(just above your feet) pull the headlight knob off and hang onto the clip that sometims comes off, lower the tilt of your steering wheel, I think (i cant remember) there may be two upper and two lower screws that hold the speedo trim on, pull the trim gently after the srews are gone on it should pop out, disconnect the defog and cig. lighter and twist the trim slightly to pull it off the column. The cluster is held in by two upper and lower screws and then gently wiggly the cluster out. Its really easy. Maybe a 2 on a scale of 1-10. Good luck.

Im not saying that it is the wires but just when my tach went nuts thats what it was. Try finding a wiring diagram and make a jumper wire to see if thats what the problem is. Good luck buddy
