ShadowLord69 05-21-2003, 11:48 AM I may be going down to the coast, to furhter my education at BCIT in the mechanics eltt program.but thats in 2 yrs so you have 2 yrs to run:D <thought id be nice>.
and anybody that has been to BCIT could you tell me how there shop is and all typical student questions.
LuCiFeR97Z28 05-21-2003, 12:12 PM BCIT is a great school...I went there after getting my degree at UBC to get a Software Systems certification. It was the best choice I ever made...even though my student loans are the reason I don't have a car right now :(. I rather get all the suffering out of the way now while I'm young instead of 5 years down the line when jobs are scarce and competition is fierce.
Talk to an advisor from BCIT and start planning your future :).
ShadowLord69 05-21-2003, 12:30 PM thanks I was thinking about applying for every Scholarship I can to help against the loan and also put all the money I make over the next year away for it to.
then when I get down there I hope i will be able to get a job.
well any ways g2g
todd15 05-21-2003, 03:43 PM whoah your english is getting muc better
bunker 05-21-2003, 03:58 PM Ic... BCIT is a rip off their stupid & etc... I hate them & they're so not organized, they lie on every corner, its one big hole as far as the campus in Richmond goes.
But, I've been at the campus in burnaby & it looks pretty professional, but whatever you do don't bother with Richmond campus, they just pissed me off big time today I can't belive them.

oldschool 05-21-2003, 04:32 PM I've been at BCIT going on 4 years at the Burnaby campus...(2nd "piece of paper")
Marketing Management= HOT chicks, wicked parties and.....oh yeah, great education.
BCIT is a tough school though...fail rate is higher than 50% in many courses, so don't expect it to be easy.

sideways_Into_3rd 05-21-2003, 04:55 PM what ever u do .. dont goto SFU ..
SFU = Suicide Frequent University.
UBC is a very nice place on the other hand.

I AGREE!!!:D
I've been to Kwantlen and UBC.... BICT was the best descision I ever made. It's tough but well worth it.
CoryM 05-21-2003, 06:33 PM The heavy duty end of the burnaby campus sucked VERY badly when I was there. Waste of time and $$. I got 97% without even trying.

bunker 05-21-2003, 08:09 PM well my program is extremely hard but its run by idiots

Yep. 2 years of school, ~$3500 in tuition and books and I'm now working as a CNC machinist/programmer
An education at BCIT is a great way to get in the door and provides a foundation from which to build a career upon.
Geeze... I sound like some lame advertisement or something:lol:
Pandamonkey 05-22-2003, 02:10 AM I spent 4 years at BCIT - off and on - while getting my Electrical Ticket.
Trades are a good way to go, but now it's been made a bit more difficult as that the apprenticeship program is no longer government sponsered........oh well, it'll just be like everything else - if you want the education, you'll have to pay.
ShadowLord69 05-22-2003, 04:08 PM I am suprised at the response, and thankfull for your guy's insight.
Right now I know I want to get the ELTT program done but after that I'm stuck for ideas. I really dont want to be left high and dry like right now i find that I'm slower than the other students at high school <Though I do screw up less>.But after ELTT which courses will open up? do I have to get an apprentice ship at a General Motors outlet to take the GM apprentice ship course?.
What about the dormitories are they any good?
P.S I am trying really hard to get better at my sentence structuring so dont mock me plz.
bunker 05-22-2003, 08:13 PM Indeed!
Shodowlord, go crawl back where you came from :)
No just joking. Here is some advice, screw the ELTT program, take my advice its crap just like the heavy duty mechanic course, its a joke.
Go try to get an Apprenticeship at GM or Toyota, if you have to work your way up do so, after you get an Apprenticeship you can go to BCIT Apprentice course for GM/TOYOTA & make 40+ G's a year starting, & if you go for more education (you can after 2 years of working) you can make 60+G"s a year. BUt I'd concentrate on that or go to the Automotive service tech but you might not meet the requirnments, I'd go to their seminars & you'll have everything explained to you.
ShadowLord69 05-23-2003, 12:03 PM bunker I thought you were a Student?
I also thought you had to take the ELTT program to go anwhere else.
