A:F/PE tables on the wideband

I'm an LT1edit newbie, but I'm starting to understand what is going on. However, I have a couple questions about dialing in the AFR on a wideband.

1) Is it as simple and checking the A:F then adjusting it by altering the PE vs RPM table (positive values to add fuel, negative to decrease) until making the most power safely?

2) How long would it take to dial in the WOT A:F and timing? 30 minutes? 1hour? 2 hours?

3) Do any places cut you a $ break if you have all the tools (cable, LT1edit, tuning it yourself) and are only using the dyno and wideband?

I would like to get an idea of how much I'm going to have to pay to do this. Also, is there anything I'm missing that is really beneficial to tune on a dyno? I was under the impression a dyno/wideband is the only way to really dial in the WOT tune, but all the other part throttle tuning could be done on the street with the help of some logging software. But again, I'm a newbie. Sorry if I'm reposting.

i downloaded a dynotuning file here (http://para.noid.org/~lj/PCM%20Tutorial/PCMtutorial.htm) that will do everything you need. i havent had a chance to use it yet but im sure the program works flawlessly. what it is is a spreadsheet that you use after using a wideband O2 to dial in your target AFR. you simply plug in the AFR at all RPMs given from the wideband into the corresponding data fields and the formulas spit out the new PE changes to be made in the PE vs RPM table.

very simple.. get on the dyno get a good pull with the wideband hooked up. look at the graph and plug those #s into the spreadsheet i send ya... reflash and get another pull to see the changes. usually you get a 5-10 min wait between pulls to let the car cool anyway so you can use that time to adjust the PE and reflash.

maybe 30 min max id imagine.

they will probably charge you just to hook up the wideband.. i got quoted $15 just to use it at the place im gonna dyno on top of the $50 or so to get in a couple pulls.

when i do AFR on the wide band i use a rull of thumb one digit up or down to adjust the PE table.
ie: if you have an AFR of 13.5 and the PE is at 6.0 for that RPM to get it to 12.5 i would add 1.0 to make it 7.0 on the PE table.
play witht he timing a bit to get it where it makes low torque and no knock. if you can find a dyno there is one here in SA that we go to they charge you by the hour which is $100 per hourt and i beleive $10 for the wideband.in an hour i can get the tunning really good. send me your file and your mods and i can look at it maybe help a bit?

Hmm...I've found it to be more like 10, not 1.
