I've tried method I can think of, and I -still- see streaks on my car's windows! Not always, just at certain angles and in certain light, but it still bugs the hell out of me. Is there a way to completely get rid of streaking on glass?

Have you tried cleaning the glass with a cotton bath towel instead of paper towels, I get a more even finish that way.

I noticed you ride is a 2001. I bet your streaking becomes worse not only when/if you cleaned your windows in the heat sun, BUT if you cleaned them in an ideal place that cool and shaded, then parked her in the sun then you would start to see streaks and stuff that werent there previously?

Anyway if you noticed when you leave a new car in the sun/heat the windows seem to haze over more quickly than a ride that is two or three years old. That is because the plastics and chemichals in the interior (especially the dash) give off "gases" that rise to the windshield. The process slows down greatly after 2 years. I noticed this was even worse in Camaros (big dash/big window). Just some info http://web.camaross.com/bb/smile.gif

I was watching Dream Car Garage one night and in their detailing segment they used window cleaner and very fine steel wool. Anyone try this? It seemed to work for them.

Use newspaper to wipe your glass down with, it doesn't streak.

Yes newspaper works wonders and if you do miss a spot just go back over it with the
paper you finished wipeing with.

I've tried them all, including newspaper, and get the best results using Sprayway Glass Cleaner and a cotton towel. Sprayway, unlike most glass cleaners, contains no ammonia. The ammonia is what normally causes streaks, especially in warm/hot weather. If it's any indication, the majority of glass shops here use Sprayway. You can buy it at most janitorial supply places.
