SLED28 05-19-2003, 01:51 PM ARE headed to the track to test a few cars on Sunday. Wade brought once again, the Sick Silver Z and made more passes (made some small changes). The car ran a beautifull 8.71 pass @ nearly 162mph on a 1.34 60'. More to come...
PNYKILR 05-19-2003, 04:13 PM WOW, that's awsome. Time to put a big thumper turbo on that thing and dip down in the seven's:D
CSJTA 05-20-2003, 12:27 AM Dave, can you explain what Stock Suspension means to you, and what's under Wade's car, is that really a Stock Suspended car?
rock1501 05-20-2003, 01:11 AM wow I saw them run the 8.82@159mph pass last week and now this.
8.50`s to come?
SLED28 05-20-2003, 07:06 AM CSJ, it a stock suspension car with enlarged wheel wells and a narrowed rearend so the car could sit low. It uses all BMR and Hal shock parts, all in factory bolt holes and locations. I could take off the torque, LCA's, shocks etc, and bolt them right on to any 4th-gen f-body out there. The car is not going 1.25 60's, usuallly mid-high 1.3's... it is the brute power of that engine making it turn the numbers not the suspension!
Derrick Redd 05-20-2003, 08:39 AM  Simply   Amazing
CSJTA 05-20-2003, 09:51 AM Not to be nit pickin, but maybe the title should say Stock Style Suspension, cause it ain't no where near stock.
SLED28 05-20-2003, 10:04 AM Thats what most race sanctions etc, call 'stock suspension'. Stock style is the same thing to many people...

I'm not trying to be an ass here , but man .....people take that term to literaly . Stock suspended = factory mounting points;)

And he is USING the factory mounting points (well, I'm sure he is running the BMR Xtreme torque arm, so I guess not the front of that. Just all of the parts that are mounting are aftermarket. I too prefer the stock-style suspension term.
Regardless, that's a great time.
Redbird 05-21-2003, 10:19 AM ... Dave is saying that the car suspension wise, is no different than 80% of us who drag race our 4th gens. Bolt on parts from aftermarket manufactures, same as most of us. Except for the tubs and rearend narrowing of course.
Does that allow much more tire to be used, Dave? That in itself would make a big difference. And... by the way... I'd do the same if I had the money so it's not a putdown.
"Brute Power"... THAT is what we all need more of!!!
Corngrats Canadian Brothers!
SLED28 05-21-2003, 07:48 PM Thanks Kev, we only use 28" tires. At our local races up here (OSCA), we use a true 28x10.5" tire. We sometimes use a 28x10.5W tire when testing. We will be on 28W's for North vs South. I don't even know if a 29 will fit in there diameter wise...
transamtom 05-22-2003, 07:38 PM Congrats on that wickedly fast run  161mph in 1320 ft:bow:
