Question...

Well, I have a bit of an unusual question...

I just finished talking to a buddy about using nitrous...he tells me that when nitrous is used, it creates nitric acid deposits in your motor that can eat away at parts, etc. that are exposed to it over a period of time.
I've never heard of this happening, and I have been around and quite knowlegeable of this stuff for quite some time now....what gives?

Nope...he's wrong.

Nitric Acid is HNO3 where in the combustion chamber the N2O separates at 560 or so degrees into 2 atoms of nitrogen and 1 of oxygen which gives the added oxygen to your intake charge.

There is really no way that the N2O is going to change to nitric acid after the combustion process....sorry.

Yeah, kinda what I figured....I never had heard of any type of acid, nitriric or other wise, being created during the use of n20.
