Tw!tchb!tch 05-18-2003, 11:25 AM I need to widen my rims asap to accept some fat ass Nitto's . Right now they are 18 X 9 with 285 35 ZR18's with a 36 mm offset ( 1/2 inch out farther than stock ) . I was thinking if I just squeeze an inch or two outta tha back would be good . Anybody know how much $$$ it costs ?? Hunter ( I think ) was reccomended
OneFlyn95z28 05-18-2003, 02:13 PM There are places that do it. I need to get ahold of one of them.
I am going to have my SS wheels widened to 10.5 so I can get 315s on also ;)

I was at Kurtus Tamez's place today and first off, he's the nicest American out there other than Mike, Bobby and Steve...anyway...he has a set of slicks and skinnies (with rims, nice ones for that matter)for sale in mint condition...I almost drove away with them :p ...but no dinaro for the camaro
750.00 for everything I think...
richy rich 05-19-2003, 02:36 AM Greens Auto is the only place around here that will widen your wheels[panther wont].I had a set done 2 years ago-$500.00 for the pair, they came out good.
Tw!tchb!tch 05-19-2003, 02:30 PM Hahha If I bolt on slicks man everything else up the line is going to die :dead: My car is making some power now , I just need " some " grip , like 30 % more than the zero I have now so I dont lose control and smack the walls like payam does :D Maybe Ill just go ahead and order up some stock size drag radils and see how they work . . . I guess the 295's are too fat for 9" wide rims huh ?? I have 285's on there now looks good
Rich , how long is the turn around time on the rims ???
Dave

...G-Force Drag Radial...great price
Tw!tchb!tch 05-19-2003, 03:42 PM  ** DROOL ** Thats a screaming price , what size rimz do you have ??
richy rich 05-19-2003, 10:13 PM Bob [at Greens Auto] orig told me 1 week, but I told him I needed them asap & he didm them in 2 days.He just did my buddies wheels in less than a week.He does nice work-but it is pricey.
JD30thZ28 05-20-2003, 01:35 AM Green's will widen your rims, they charge about $500 to do two rims, although with chrome rims I would think you will have to have them chromed again.
LuCiFeR97Z28 05-20-2003, 03:10 PM I've heard good things about Green's as well :). They do good work but it can get expensive (~$225/wheel) but it is all quality - when widening rims it is important that you do not jeopardize the structural integrity of the rim.
Tw!tchb!tch 05-20-2003, 08:30 PM That doesnt seem to be an unfair price . Now the only thing I am woried about is the effect on the offset . When you widen a 9 " rim about 1 " , does it split the difference or throw the whole 1 " towards the inside . I already have 36 mm positive offset ( 1/2 inch more outwards than stock ) It would seem to me it would all go towards the inside , not a real problem I guess except I cant go 11 " :D I think this is a project for winter time when I dont mind my car being layed up . . .
97TA-WS6-Con 05-20-2003, 08:54 PM Would it not just be more cost affectivbe to sell your rims and buy new ones?
richy rich 05-20-2003, 08:54 PM Greens will add that inch were you want it.Steet side or back side. But you can't split it,if you do he will charge you double because now he is welding a total of 4 beads per rim as say 2 beads per rim.it wont effect the face of your wheel as far as getting them rechromed.I run 142 mph at mission & there all good.
Tw!tchb!tch 05-20-2003, 09:39 PM Would it not just be more cost affectivbe to sell your rims and buy new ones?
Well not really cause with the tires and evrything these were ALOT of money . If I widen them I can run fatties out back and then later get a new set of custom rims for when Im pimpin hard  20' x 10 's out back 19's in front baby  500 $$ doesnt even buy me 1 rim and the ones I want now are like 900 usd each front and 1000 ++ usd rear :)
