Speaker Screen

My driver's door speaker is distorted and fuzzy, and I need a new one. Is it possible to remove the screen over the speaker or will I have to take my entire door apart to get to the speaker?

My friend says I can just take the screen off, but it seems like it's part of the plastic on the door and I don't want to take the screen off and then find out I broke it.

So what's the best way to change out my driver's door speaker and what speaker should I buy to replace it? It's a Monsoon system.

You need to remove the door trim panel to get the speaker out. And since the POS Monsoon system uses 2ohm speakers you'd be better off replacing it with another factory speaker. Replacing it with an industry standard 4ohm speaker will result in lower playback levels since it will only be getting roughly half the power that the stock speaker was getting.
