A friend of mine has an opportunity to buy a complete '03 Corvette LS1 for $3000.00. The motor has 2900 miles on it and the guy needs the money this week. I told him to do it. Is $3000 a good price?
Thanks

Sounds reasonable, but I guess it depends a whole lot on what is included? Accessories? Wiring harness? Computer? Or just the engine and nothing else?

Computer and wiring are included, not sure about accessories.

If the computer and wires are included I think that is a pretty good deal. If I were him and had 3k I would jump on it.

In that case, as long as it is in working condition, I'd say it is a good deal.

Better keep in mind, though: if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is! :alert:

Sounds like a good deal to me. I was looking at my friend's Camaro catalog not too long ago and they wanted $7398 for a new one!

Turns out it was a 1999 LS1. Who knows how many miles were on it. The current owner said he bought for $400.00. It was to fishy, my buddy backed out.

I dont know of ANYONE that would sell a LS1 engine with or without the computer for 400 bucks if it was in working condition. Sounds like someone was trying to rip your friend off, good thing he backed out on it! :)

Jim Pace quoted me about $4k for a new LS6 engine. Maybe i'll sell you my LS1 for $3k and upgrade;) :D
