Im looking to buy a 3200 stall, not sure what STR yet. I plan on adding a 100 shot soon also. Im looking at the cheaper brands (not vig or yank). What converters have work well for you guys on near stock LS1s with the 2.73 gears?

Well its silly to put a converter on a 2.73, a 3.23 is a minimum. A 2.73 doesnt have enough rotational ratio to take full advantage of a higher stall converter. A 3.73 is ideal for a 3200 stall.

Stay in the 3000 advertized stall and get the highest STR available. Your 2.73s will make it stall higher than advertized so will your nitrous. A 3000 with 2.73s will stall 3200-3400 hit the nitrous and add a couple of hundred to that. And I've seen some very fast cars with that setup.

That is totally icorect....while having a 3.23 and up gears will do more for you at teh track, a converter/2.73 combo works just fine...

I went 12.24 @ 111.32 with a vig 3200 and 2.73's...and a few other bolt on's.....

Everyone says to get at least a 2800 no matter what your gears are. And, then most folks say that if you don't get at least a 3000-3200, you'll wish you had.

Also, with 2.73s you will want a higher str, I'd say a 2.5. Just my opinion.
