black magic tire gel is the sh!t

just letting everyone know i finally found a tire black product that actually doesnt' sling everywhere.. black magic tire gel

have you had it on long enough to tell how it holds up after time?

what about the gloss? is it really glossy, or so-so glossy.

i've been using meguiars high endurance gel...easy to work with, and lasts a while...but not as glossy as other tire products.

i'm almost out of the meguiar's stuff, perhaps i'll pick up some black magic:)

I personally think that stuff is some of the worst tire shine gels on the market. When i used it, the shine didnt hold up, and the fly off all over my car after only a brief trip on the highway was ridiculous. But if it works for you, Use it to your hearts content.

I personally think meguiars high endurance gel is alot better than black majic. In my expirence, black majic doesn't last as long and it spins off all over.

Ya, this has been my experience with this product as well... I was not very happy with it... It made a big mess for me.

this is not the liquid black magic stuff that comes in a spray bottle that stuff slings all over, it's a smaller bottle of gel that you apply with a sponge or whatever. It holds up very well and is very glossy. Even when it rains it beads the water off very well and keeps from getting dull.

I really dont like'em "that" glossy, just regular clean, so-so glossy, but I'll give meguiars high endurance gel a try...

Most of us are familliar with he Black Magic Gel. We use the spray bottle to shine the inner fenders above the wheels and as an accelerant to barbaque things. I really dont like that high gloss look myself. I prefer a new tire look. If you can find the meguiars regualr endurance paste, you will love it. It seriously will last weeks not days when properly applied. Most places stopped carrying it cause it worked too well. But i get mine at Target.

Target huh.... and what do you use to apply it? a sponge? I used to spray it on a rag and wipe it and then wipe it off... to get that new tire look you mention. thank you.

In general, are the gels better than the sprays and (of course the foams-think i know that one already :))?

I use zaino tire cleaner. No run-off, it isn't glossy, just makes your tires look brand new. :D

Black Magic is a bad idea IMO. I, along with many of my detailing buddies have had bad experiences. Yes, the shine's good, SOMETIMES you can get it on thin enough for it not to fling, but the really bad thing about it is that it will turn your tires brown after time. I used it on my tires on an old 88 Camaro I had. Brand new tires, after a year they were BROWN. I had to scrub that crap off with a brush, and that was a PITA. I dunno, more power to ya if you like it, but I personally stand by Eagle 1 Wet Look. No flinging, no turning colors. Just spray it onto the easy-as-cake applicator, work it onto the tire, there ya go. You can even go over it a second time once the applicator dries out a little to take some of the shine off if you want it subtle. Very good product. A+ :D

I've used black magic a few times and every time if flies off all over my wheels and behind the tires. Lately I've just used armor all, it gives it a nice clean look and stays on for a good amount of time.

Yeah, I don't like Black Magic either. It does make the tire very shiny but it's not a 'natural' shine- it's too thick looking. I use Meguiar's Endurance- it just makes the tire look new. :) But I'm still looking for the paste.

I dont know what you guys are talking about but the BM gel in the black bottle with the sponge has no sling at all for me. And I have white rims, so I notice the brands that do and dont sling. I like its gloss and endurance. Only prob is that it does tend to cake on a bit and you should clean it off your tires between each application.

i liked it because of the great shine it had and NO spin-up off the wheels.
HOWEVER!!.........After about 2 weeks, brake dust collects on it and dulls the shine. When you decide to wash your car and clean it off to re-apply it, have fun. Getting that stuff off is like trying to clean off a generous helping of axle grease! :yuck: :irk:

Anyone ever use something like this, they say it lasts for months :eek:
