bilstein shocks

My car is lowered with an eibach prokit. I may be getting rid of it and going with some BMR springs in the future.

I've decided on Bilstein shocks because they're cheaper than hals. ;)


Anyways, I'm asking about distributors. The best price I've seen is $400 or so.

There was a guy on here not long ago (couple weeks maybe) that got quoted like $300 for all 4. I lost the website he came from, and the thread is gone.

Any help? Other suggestions?

Btw the car has sfcs, lcas, relocation brackets, springs, and will have a stb very soon. New sway bars are coming in a few months.

The thread you saw might have been mine. Try this website;
www.bimmerparts.com . I was quoted $300 for the complete set shipped. I believe the part numbers are B46-1913 for the fronts and B46-1914 for the rears.

edit: Ok, only problem I have now is that I need the "sport" setting, not the "heavy duty" setting. Is that a different part number or what? I've looked on many different sites and can't figure that out?

I think bilstein only makes one type of shock for the f-body, but i may be wrong.

The only other Bilsteins for the 4th gen Camaro are SLP version, for SLP springs.

Do you mean re-valved shocks? If so, I've heard that Sam Strano of Strano parts re-valves them but this really ups the price.

Sam Strano sells the HD Bilsteins for $329. Sam will revalve them if that is your wish. I believe Bistein charges around $55 for each shock to revalve them. Sam adds a little to cover his time and expenses. Pretty fair deal if you don't know what the valving should be for your car.

How will the Heavy Duty Bilstein's hold up on a lowered car?

They will be fine as long as they are re-valved. Contact Sam Stranos Jr. at Stranos Parts (http://www.stranosparts.com) . He's LOADED with more information than you can digest at once. He'll spend as much time on the phone with you as you need!!!! On top of that, he's the current SCCA Solo II E-Street Prepared National Champion! It doesn't hurt!
