Hey guys, can anyone tell me the best way to wash a California duster when it gets dirty? Washing machine or hand wash and with what cleaner or detergent should I use. They say the dirtier it gets the better it cleans but I don't like brushing a dirty duster on my car.

I have never washed the duster before. I think mine needs washing soon! Everytime I dust my car(black) is leaves little streaks from the wax. It takes some work to get that off.

I remember on the box it says you can hand wash it in the sink with a mild soap. Don't know if that helps or not.

You can wash it with dish soap, I washed mine with dawn when it was brand new cause i got tired of it leaving parafrin wax trails on my freshly waxed car. In my opinion, it worked better after i washed it.

I might have to wash mine too. I get those streaks as well, and it really sucks on a black car.

Damn 12+ years. I guess you are more carefull than me. i like to shine the t-top trim and windsheild wiper trim with tire shine. Sometimes it gets on the duster, i cant have too much of that, than i need to wash it. Maybe i need to be more carefull.
