Does anybody know what the word "Camaro" means?

Just a random question. Does "Camaro" mean anything or was it just made up by Chevy? I know it's a dumb question but if any one knows help me out. Thanks! :confused:

i read it once but dont remember to well so i might be a little off. i read it here on this site. i think its a french or taken from a french word that means friend or companion. i think. and know you got me curious about it also.

LOL. Sorry bout sparking your curiosity. But seriously I can't think of anything it would mean. Pretty sure it's not like an animal or anything. Camaro=friend? Companion sounds like camaro.
