Question for the V6 Guys

Does your car (auto) have the same trans as an LS1? A guy at work here was asking, and I didn't have the answer.

I drive a 97 RS A4 and it's the GM 4L60-E tranny.

I think that's the same as the LS1's? You'd have a much better converter and higher gears, but the tranny I think is the same.

the belhousing is different and a few other odds and ends, but the core is the same (4l60e)
