robvas 06-03-2002, 12:24 PM About 50 cops in every parking lot, you can't even sit around anymore. They've been blocking the strip, of course, but now they chase you out of the lots.
Maybe there's a new meeting place....It was DEAD Saturday night.

robvas 06-03-2002, 01:25 PM I just mean recently.
3 weeks ago, there was 2 hours of non-stop racing before the cops showed. And they weren't patrolling the parking lots.
Saturday they were towing kids out of McDonalds. http://web.camaross.com/bb/mad.gif
91Bird305 06-03-2002, 02:06 PM Probably just starting to crackdown. Had other things to deal with before they delt with the street racing sh*t. It is flint ya know. http://web.camaross.com/bb/biggrin.gif

robvas 06-04-2002, 09:48 AM There's a guy with a black LS1 down there, that I always think is you...until he accelerates. His front tires stay on the ground and he doesn't have your exhaust, either http://web.camaross.com/bb/wink.gif

Black99Z28 06-04-2002, 12:09 PM Flint is the armpit of this state! No offense, but there is no town that should have a greater police presence the Flint, MI. I spent 4 years there going to school and I hope to never have to go back.
91Bird305 06-04-2002, 12:42 PM I agree. The mayor was corrupt and kicked out of the city, police and firefighters are being laid off because the city doesn't have any money. GM is moving out (which might be a good thing in the long run). Hell, the state will probably take over the city and start to run it if we can't. I hate flint and my only goal in life is to get very far from it. Its a sh*t hole.

robvas 06-04-2002, 12:58 PM Yeah, with all the layoffs and ****, you'd figure the cops would have better stuff to do.
Oh well, we'll have to call in a bomb threat or torch a building next weekend, that'll keep him busy http://web.camaross.com/bb/wink.gif
OneBad98Z 06-05-2002, 02:45 AM Im probably the Black Ls1 you see around.. I actually thought Saturday was pretty good, you just have to look around like Harold said, if there isnt anyone on St.Johns. look around people are still there. lots of nice cars.. Just gotta find em.
Later,
Greg

robvas 06-05-2002, 08:41 AM Maybe it is you. I'll be down there next week in a Silver WRX or the Laser, it's black, stock wheels, faded paint on the hood, roof, trunk. It's pretty loud and I've got gauges on the pillar. Give a shout if you see me. If you're the one thats always at the Sunoco it must be you.

Dolby109 06-13-2002, 03:18 AM Actually I thought this weekend was the first good one in quite a while.
I went a few dry days this winter, and there were like 20 cars there, and no cops at all pretty much.
I havn't been able to go every weekend, because I am spending a lot of time in Ohio with my GF.
But every weekend I have gone with the larger cround the cops have parked at the cruize and at the auto zone, and chased us out.
This fri and we were able to park at the cruize for a while before we got chased out, and it took them a while to kick us out of autozone.
Then we got a solid hour and a half of racing in. (I heard a Semi truck ran down a few cars blocking the road a few blocks away...true?) Which was supposed to be why.
Saturday, was a little worse, but there was some good races, and lots of cars there.
Did you close your eyes or something Rob?
What is wrong with posting the location? As OB98Z said, this cruize has been around for years, and it is publicly known now, which is why the cops are strict now.
We just need a buisness to stay open, and support us being there, then the cops cant kick us out.
You know the that McDonalds calls the cops on us, when we croud their lot, and that is why we get kicked out of there. If they didn't call the cops we would get to stay there.
The prob is TOO many people pull in there, and block their regular buisness, so they call the cops.
Anyway...I should be there Fri, and Sat. Eather in my Z, or my Maroon buick LeSabre http://web.camaross.com/bb/rolleyes.gif

80range 06-13-2002, 11:18 AM I have a 80 camaro, Hugger orange with black racing stripes.
I actually came out once last year with it
You probly wont see it this year much unless the cops ease up, or there is a good time in which to show up when they are busy elswhere
Me and my friends drive out there in a 4-door and check out if it is "going on" or not before we go home and get the toys.
91Bird305 06-13-2002, 12:41 PM I am in Mount Pleasant right now and pretty much live up here. But I drive down to the hometown sometimes. Maybe I will take a trip out there to the Flint cruise.

Ucantcme57 06-14-2002, 10:58 AM I have to say that I'm very interested in knowing where the hangouts are.. It's summer time and My car is almost put together and I need a place to go play ..(outta wayne county, where they take your car and never give it back if you get caught street racing) I do some work up in Flint on coldwater Rd. and on Hamilton.. (in former GM Factory locations.. Does anybody know the old Delphi Plant on Coldwater Rd that was torn down last year? I work there sometimes) I do environmental work.. I don't know alot of people who street race.. (college in a far away place has taken me from the voice of the racing people.. but I'm back and I would love to know.. Given I live about 50 mins from Flint, but you gotta go where the action is I guess.. Maybe someone can email me... kswinney@craworld.com

Dolby109 06-15-2002, 04:09 AM OMG! Tonight it was DEAD! I got there at about 1:30am and the 2 cops were sitting at the cruize.
I was driving, and seeing 1/10th the usual traffic. I went to autozone to find like 10 cars there at most...all were just average V6 sedans. I asked them what was going on, and the cops had been sitting at the stip for over an hour!
Well around 1:45, Shift change! Yay!
We all go back, and there were a few races. Mostly nick in his GrandAm. It was nice to see a near stock Z28 run him down though. A guy with a green 95 A4, with just 3.73's and "radial GT's" raced him, and took him pretty good up top.
Now I am not afriad to race him.
Also that super riced out Civic was up there, he raced a riced out S10. He bogged bad off the line, so the S10 shot ahead, and in a desperate attempt to catch up, he forgot to shift, and bounced off his rev limiter a good 6 times. After that he gave up.
Hopefully tomarrow everyone won't leave when the cops show up.
It usually is much busier on Saturday's though.
For those who want to know its pretty easy to get there.
Just take 75 to 475, and get off on the Dort exit. If you are going N on 475 take a left, or right for south. And the first street come to is the cruize.
If the cops break us up we just drive around the area.

Black Sunshine/ 00SS 06-16-2002, 03:20 PM Sat wasn't much better. They sat there for awhile, and would come & go. We had to take the show somewhere else.
The green Z was Jesse. He's on the board here. Did pretty good for a stock car on GT's. After getting spanked by Jesse, the Mustang actually wanted to run me, even after I told him about the blown posi. So from a roll, I gave him a taste..
Because of the weather being cold, the cops had nothing better to do than to sit on the strip.
Next week should be better, if the weather holds out.

everyone is running out, i think i;m the only one going in!
80range 06-17-2002, 03:22 PM We need to get organized!!!!
Schedule a date and time and head out there with a ton of cars
Hell even a sunday night or sumthing to throw the smokeys off track
Refuse to be run out and just drive around (all night if we have to) and out wait em
They gotta go and protect the rest of flint sometime.....
We cant let tradition die....this is what we built our cars for.....crusing, showing off and racing!!!
91Bird305 06-17-2002, 03:35 PM Showing ur cars is cool. Racing ur cars on the street with morons at the end of the finish line (like in Flint) is retarded. I don't need to go to jail because some idoits decided that parking at the finish line would be the best spot to watch.

fryguy 06-18-2002, 08:16 AM There are still 3-4 nice nieghborhoods left in Flint. One of them is walking distance from the University.
I have a house for rent there if anyone is interested, with a 2 car garage :-)
Like I said it's easy walking distance from campus.
robvas 07-20-2002, 11:51 PM is that the dark side, or light side?
I went down there a few weeks ago with the WRX crew, but nobody raced. We sat there from 11-2am just talking and ****...
