I need 2 16" rims for my DR. I can't mount them on my stock salad shooters cause I still use the car for daily driving. Thanks

BTW: What should I expect to pay for 2 stock rims?

Hye man, just check the for sale section or ebay. I got my 2 sald shooters for $90 shipped about a month or so ago. You can find them cheap, especially if you find ones with minor scratches and rubs. Mine are actually perfect surprisingly.

Hey Ryan, sell me yours LOL ;)

I was gonna borrow Jasons last week when we hit 42 but we were already running late. Actually, I'd like to borrow his cam, heads, TB, pulley set, etc........ :D

You can use my a couple runs if I get up there. Hopefully I will be there next wed. How are you running now? I am getting a stall and RRs this upcoming month. 3200 and 1.6s

Not very good on stock tires. Fastest this year, after adding my converter and a few other things, I went 14.23 @ 98 last Friday. I still need to install my headers and add a few more bolt-ons along with Jasons old cam and valvetrain and I should be good to go for a while. Lotsa work ahead of me

EDIT: Oh, sorry. Thanks for the offer on the rims/tires Ryan. I'm trying to secure a deal for some rims as I browse tonight.

Ryan, there have been issues with higher stalls in ODB_I setups. Have you looked into that?

Ya, I am finding that. That is right around where I want to go but I am still going to do some more research before hand. Not sure if a mail order tune would do me any good at that point besides fix the TC issue.

Here are the 2 converters I am looking at. Do you think the one is worth the extra $200?

I think the Vigilante's are overpriced and I have heard nothing but good things about the Midwest.

I am part of the LT1_Edit mailing lists and some people resolve it, some don't. I know with ODB_II you don't have those problems and some people have went to ODB_II, but it has it's share of issues. From what I have seen you can run up to a 2800 with no known problems.

I know if I had to do it again, I would really think about what STR I would have gotten.

I run a PI unit and it was pricey, but it works well and when I had it re-stalled, I sent it on a Monday and got it back Friday, all via UPS ground, if I remember my dates correctly.

I would not do what a number of LS1 guys do and get 4000+ stalls for street cars. If you do that, you just took away the one thing LT1's really have, rwtq because you just shot past it. IMO.

You could always call PI and just ask why they want 7 bones and the comp wants less than 5.....

Ryan,

For what it's worth, I run a Midwest converter also. I have the 3000 2.5str. I can tell you that John at Hpaparts is awesome to deal with, he spent 2hrs on the phone with me 1 day. His customer service is perfect as far as I'm concerned and you can't beat the price and warranty.

Jason, I just got doen doing some searches and it appears that Bryan and PCM4less has been able to fix the problem with the OBD1s so it looks like I am going to do the 3200 stall. I agree with you though about the LS1s and their big stalls. I am pretty sure I will keep mine there. I am doing the 2.5 str also, not sure if I will get that double roller sprag.

What did you mean when you said you would change the STR?

Darkhorse, good to hear. I agree with you too, for the price and the warranty you cant beat it. I have heard nothing but good thigns about them too.

EDIT: Oh ya, being as though I still have the 2.73s waiting for a 12 bolt, I think my torque is higher up. When I dynoed, I couldnt start my pull until 3500 to keep it from downshifting. not sure if that makes a difference or not.

I think he meant that he would go to a lower STR which is the torque multiplier for the converter. I have a 2.5 meaning that it multiplies the torque 2 1/2 times. I think Jason is running a 2.5 though it could be a 2.1 or 3.0 even. Not sure, but his car hits like a raped ape.

This is a major part of why my car has a good ET but the MPH is lower than normal....

I would really look into this before I chose a convertor.

hey man, I don't know if you remember me, but I was with Ricky Neff when we brought a cable up for your car. It was for the one program to see how your car was running, can't remember what it was called. You didn't have a parallel part on your laptop, so u couldn't use it.

I have 4 stock rims that I could sell you, but I might be able to split them up into just 2 if your interested?

Jayson, that site was awesome but now I am all confused. I want all the extra torue but want to be efficient. Why don't they just make both? lol. What STR are you running?
You really have me thinking hard about it now. Time to post a question in the tech section. ;)

I run a PI 3600 with an STR of 2.5.

If I ran a street radial tire, I might have gone with a lower STR. But being that my car has pretty much no traction issue, it makes full use of the STR.

J,

You're lucky it's raining today, I planned on taking your truck out on Rte 8 tonight :D

What's the deal on the Fun Ford weekend, are you still thinking of going?

I want to, but last night I was walking up the stairs and slipped and damn near ripped my big toe's nail off....so now I can barely walk...see if it gets better as the day goes on...

Also...u want none of my truck...got a bat for ya though....

DarkHorse

Damn dude, hope your foot heals cleanly. My bro-in-law hit his toe like 2 years ago and complains to this day about it. The toe is one of those weak spots on the body.

Keep the bat in the cab of the truck. For those that don't know, last week J and I hooked up on the freeway. He's swinging a freaking baseball bat at my car in the middle of rush hour while cruising at 65 mph down rte 8. What a sight to see, others on the road were pretty freaked out.
