hey guys,
i am laying out my new engine and i am plannign to run dfi. the set up i am gonna use has a provision to use a knock sensor and i was wondering if it will work?
my planned combo is a 406, around 10.25:1, iron heads, a .590ish lift cam, and big tube headers ( 1 7/8 primary 3.5inch scavenger collectors).
will the big cam/big exhaust mess with the knock sensor? is there a less sensative sensor i coudl go to and use? anything i can do to the sensor to havfe it be accurate but not react to any of the "good" noises coming through the block?

thanks
tim

Well to get BACK on subject http://web.camaross.com/bb/wink.gif

We have a 396 230/230 car with AFR220s and Hooker LTs that raises hell with the Knock sensors. We tuned it and then zeroed them for now.

The problem seems to be that the headers "Ring" at the same frequency as knock sensor detacts knock. We are hoping to find a cure some day http://web.camaross.com/bb/wink.gif
