15 x 8 Draglites - what backspacing and bolt pattern?

What is the suggested backspacing for 15 x 8 draglites? What are the measurements for the bolt circle? Also, will a 28 x 11.5" tire fit on them? TIA!

I would suggest a 10" rim for the 11.5 width, as long as you are going to buy rims. I have 6.5" backspace on my Cragars but other people have 7.5" and their tires do not stick out. I had to flare my fenders a bit.

I am glad I got the 6.5" backspace, even with the fender work, because I went to a 12.5 tire and it still fit (barely).

I don't remember the bolt spacing... Perhaps someone else can chime in here.

Bolt pattern is 5 x 4.75". If you are using stock studs, you need 12mm lugs. Stock length studs will not pass tech.

8" to 10" rim is acceptable for a 28x11.5. Nice thing about the 10" width is you can always go to a wider tire, as mentioned in the post above. MT says 8", Hoosier say 8-10".

For a 15x8 get 6.5" BS. For a 15x10 go 7.5". You might not see these sizes in the Summit or JEG's catalogs, so go to the Weld website and get the part # for the larger offset wheels. That puts the tires completely inside the profile of the fender.

Whoa let's use Draglites and M/T's for a quick list of what works...

Draglite 15x8, 5.5 backspace
-Requires caliper grinding
-Will sit fine in the wheelwell

Draglite 15x10, 7.5 backspace
-Requires caliper grinding
-Requires some clearancing of front inner fenderwell

On 15x8's I would run:
26x10.5x15 ET Street
28x9x15 ET Drag
28x11.5x15 ET Street

I would run 28x12.5x15 ET Streets on 15x10's.

I ran 15x8/28x0x15 ET Drags which are basically the same at 28x11.5x15 ET Streets and they fit without needing any work to the fender or wheelwells.

I just got done ordering some 15x10's Draglites with the 7.5 backspacing.
I'm also going to run the Hoosiers 26x10.5x15 on them.
Hopefully everything will clear, if not I guess some messaging is in order.
I like the idea with the 15x10s you can always go wider on the tire.

I have the 15x8 with 28x11.5x15's ET Streets right now and need more tire for next year. MT's literature says 10" for the 12.5's but I called and the tech guy told me that the 12.5's will work on an 8" rim but there will be about a 1/2 less tread on the ground due to the sidewalls being in further. He said it would still be safe though. I went thru about 7 years worth of back issues of CHP and Car Craft (I have a big collection) and found over 50 cars using 12.5's on 8" wide wheels. I'm gonna try it before I go to the expense of getting 10"ers.

I have been rolling around on some 15x8/275-60-15 MH Racemaster (full treads) and N20Dave they cup like crazy, here is a pic of that setup...

Guys keep in mind that non-DOT slicks are measured differently, so a 26x10.0x15 Hoosier slick is a true 10" slick. A 26x10.5x15 ET Street is about 9"s wide.
