4L60E to a 700R4 swap have some questions?
4L60E to a 700R4 swap have some questions?
I'm putting a 700R4 in my 97 LT1 and taking out my 4L60E and I have a few questions regarding this swap...
I know I am going to have to have my PCM flashed to take out all of the trans settings, or flash it to an M6 from what I have been told. And I know I need the bracket that goes on the throttle body for the kick down cable etc. Are there any other major problems that I'm gonna come across while doing this swap? I was also told that my Vigilante 3200 (lock-up) converter will work with this 93 4L60/700R4 out of my 97 has anybody seen any problems with this in the lock-up stage? All input is greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance for all of your reply's.

I have a 93 so 4L60 (TH700R4) from the factory. A lot of guys have gone over to TH400s and Th350 so a 700R4 should have no problems. My guess would be you would have tune the computer for the abscence of the 4L60E.
