Every now and then, I go to Maple Grove Raceway with a couple of my Probe and MX-6 owning friends to do a few runs and hang out. With my girlfriend having just bought herself a '99 TA, I'm kinda curious to see how it'll do at the track, so we'll most likely take her car next time we go. It would be cool to have some other PA area F-Body owners around to hang out with and learn more about the car and such.
As of now, there's no date or anything, but if there's some interest here, I'll let you guys know the next time we're going out there. Sound like a good idea?

Jim (kazman) is a regular at the Grove. He runs points though and I'm sure you'll probably just be heading there for some T&T, right?
We rarely go there. For some reason or another things just don't seem to run smoothly when we're there. We're still contemplating going to Super Chevy this year...

I'm there for the Sunoco point races. I will miss Saturday May 17 and May 31. I pit near the staging lanes on the stones just down from the bathrooms. Silver trailblazer, black open trailer, blue-green Formula (until June 1st) Then just the blue-green Formula. I usually don't do the Friday night test and tunes.
Jackie, fyi points run not going well. I'm still sorting out the car. Last week I either ran 13.05 or 13.17 depending on 60". Three runs of each time. I must spin 1/2 a turn on some runs. I tweeked the rear supension a little so this week I hope to do better.
I watched your dad run at the Grove. He made it look so easy.

If you want to meet a bunch of F-body guys go Sunday May 11th, its F-body day at the Grove :) I'll be there again, last year there were around a dozen or so late model F-bodies plus lots of older ones.

My dad is the best. Did you see how high the vega rips the wheels off the ground this year?
Points at Atco aren't going all that well either. Rick is still tied for 6th place and my dad is tied for 7th. It was rained out 2 Saturdays and last week was a Bill Mitchell race and they could only get out 2 rounds before curfew. My dad won 2nd round and I think he took home $160 (or something like that).
The weather for tomorrow doesn't look good and the extended is calling for rain again all next weekend! Rick might actually make the Bracket Finals in the first 1/2 of the season!
You'll get your car figured out. It's tough to get used to such a drastic change. Give yourself time...

Jim,
Good to see you last Saturday. I really think you should dump mass quantities of air in those ET Streets. I'd go to 15 for the day and see if 60' consistancy comes around. I ended up running 9 1/2 pounds to get the M6 to hook. Thanks for tip on my wheel hop, I'm looking into a set of Hals for the rear. You also might consider flashing you PCM with BLM locker to make sure your not jumping from cell 15 to 18 and getting a different AFR on each run.
I took a major snooze in round 3 (it was freaking imbarrasing). Ran .002 under the dial trying to push the guy out the back. He almost lifted too early an let me around. Sux when the car's on but I can't do my part.

Story of my life. :( Either the car is on or I'm on - neither at the same time). Nice to race with you again. This is my first year with ET Streets. I was told to start at 22 and work down. I was a 19 that day. Today I droped the lower control arms down to the bottom hole and I'm going to run the rear tires down to 15lbs. I normally ran the drag radials at 14-15lbs. It seams that my ET changes were directly related to my 60'. 1.80 60'= 13.05, 1.90 60'=13.17. Hard to win when you can't dial. Weird that I went 13.05, 13.17, 13.17 then 13.05. For Street I dialed 13.11 and went 13.18 LOST 'cause I couldn't make the dial. Then I redialed for Heavy 13.17 and went 13.05 on the brakes and LOSS due to a breakout. UGH. But hey there the next race. :D

Jim,
I mentioned this to Rick last night and he had some pretty good input as to why you're having this problem. After reading what you wrote above, I think Rick is on to something...
When you run in Heavy, the car will run quicker - better 60' times. Why? Because the thicker tires from the guys in heavy are making the track quicker.
When you run in Street, the car will run slower - worse 60' times. Why? The street tires don't do anything to help the track.
Also, you're lapping the car more. The temperature could be effecting things as well.
Just something to think about. :)
