Got new CC and saw something interesting

In the Fact/Rumor section it says:

Chevy will show a "Camaro" concept car at the 04' NAIAS in Detroit."

Thought you guys might be interested, I sure was.

Can you scan it and post it online?

I dont have a scanner, but there really isnt anything to scan. That was all that was said. No pics or anything else.

To be honest, if GM is even thinking about a new Camaro, they should have a concept car with the name on it to judge reacyion ot not only the car, but the car while it wears the Camaro name.

Case in point: There are more than a few people who like the new GTO, but aren't happy with it wearing the GTO badge.

What would be the point of that when chevy will have the C6 debut at the 2004 naias? Show a concept in 05 and the production model in 06.

Why not? It's still not going to steal the spotlight from the C6. How about concept in '04 and production in '05/06?! Put something in the back of the minds of those '05 Mustang buyers next fall!

I looked in the May issue of Car Craft and did not see anything of the sort.

Is the new Car Craft June?

That would be perfect timing.. just when the Mustang goes to production.......a new Camaro to make people like my father think about it....everybody will know that the Camaro will be back and shure many will think twice about spending on a new mustang...I see it happening..GM said that they won't be out of the segment for much time:thumb:

I dont think that it will wear the name Camaro bcuz of the agreement between GM and the Canadian Union. I think it is 3-5 yrs that GM cant talk about the Camaro, but no one said they couldnt talk about a car that would be later named the Camaro.:lol:

Actually, the C6 is supposed to be shown before next January's Detroit show.

As far as Camaro being shown next year, it's entirely possible considering the aim is still to bring out the new Camaro in time for it's 40th for the 2007 model (2006 calender) year.

You guys do realise that all the articles in CC are written like 3-6 months in advance....

Therefore I think we chalk this up to speculation in October-December... of last year!

Maybe they will call it the Cam"air"O beings its up in the air right now.I just hope when they bring the Camaro out they wont say stuff like
"40 years of performance"
"40 years of heritage"
"40 years of loyal buyers (LMAO)"

Cause in 2007 the Car will have been produced for only 35 years.:D

They may write in a few months in advance, but a lot of the rumors that they put in there do ususally follow up to become true. If GM is aiming for a 2007 model, then they should be coming up with something to show at one of the shows by next year for crowd response. They did that with the SS pickup, which is a joke.
