Chrisbequick 04-21-2003, 11:25 PM Killer. Looks like you've got a great fit. Did you fab that oil pan? -Chris got_hp? 04-22-2003, 01:18 AM is this just a custom job, or for a kit? sleepybu 04-22-2003, 03:01 AM nice shop:cool: IDOXLR8 04-22-2003, 08:57 AM That is an extremely nice setup. :) Jim S. '95 Z28 04-22-2003, 10:04 AM Delicious:D! INTMD8 04-22-2003, 01:19 PM Thanks guys. The oil pan is made by Canton. I built the setup for my car. No plans to make a kit. It should be on the dyno within the next 2 weeks. Guido 04-22-2003, 03:31 PM Lookin really good man! I hope that the tuning goes smoothly for you. JordonMusser 04-23-2003, 01:05 AM looks good dude! I almost did the same type of header on my drivers side, but was concerned with not being ablt to change plugs with out dropping the downpipe. how does yours look? INTMD8 04-23-2003, 01:40 AM Thanks again :) When I built the headers, plug/wire access was a big consideration. All the plugs are very easy to get too. Both sides are easiest from the top, but the drivers side plugs could be changed from the bottom without removing anything. The closest thing on the whole system is the rack/steering shaft. I only have about 1/8in clearance around my downpipe in that area, and it's 'ovalized' a bit. Jordon- have you got your car on the dyno yet? What do you think of the setup so far in terms of fun/driveability etc ? I'm a bit worried about turbo lag. Innovative said I won't see full boost till around 4-4500. JordonMusser 04-23-2003, 01:42 AM man its fun as hell :) tried to dyno it, but had some problems.. figured it out tho(leaks in vacuum lines). nothing like 500+rwtq @ 2800. I make 14psi by 3k. what turbo do you have? Gt80? INTMD8 04-23-2003, 02:37 AM Fun as hell sounds good to me ;) You were having boost control problems on the dyno? My turbo is a GT80BB, R-trim, 1.32ar. What are you running for total ignition timing? I'm thinking around 26 total will be good for around 15lbs of boost and 100 octane. I don't want to retard the timing too much because I don't know how much heat my mild steel headers can take. Guido 04-23-2003, 09:11 AM Is yoru exhaust housing 1.32ar??? If so, I can understand why your turbo will lag so much. That is HUGE! Mine is .96 and Ive even got 406ci. I can tell a little lag in mine but launching it off the brakek will make up for it. sleeperz28 04-23-2003, 09:29 AM Looks good. IF your running a 383 and the right cam I would not worry about spool up. JordonMusser 04-23-2003, 09:47 AM well, I have been messin around a little on 13-14psi, with 27 total on 93.. nothing broken yet. 8.9:1 or so. prolly a little greedy tho. its also rich. I am gonna lean it down(to around 12:1), right now its a into the 11s a little, and take a little timeing out. | ||
