lt1 swap/ alternator issue

lt1 swap/ alternator issue
was able to swap in the lt1(using the 95 lt1 impala accessories), however on my old wire harness that leads to the alternator there is three wire(one red two brown). And on the lt1 wire harness there is only one brown. When I let the lt1 stay on for 10-15 minutes then turn it off, then re-start it the battery is dead(which says that the battery is not being re-charged obviously).

try getting a higher volt alternator

Have the alternator tested first and foremost to make sure it is working properly. This is what I did. I have an Lt1 and it has 1 large red wire that goes from the alternator screw seperate from the plug that I connected to the large red wire from the bulkhead connector at the right of the brake booster. I then also connected this to the slightly smaller red wire at that bulk head connector. Now there is another red wire from the alternator plug that I also connected to the smaller red wire from the bulk head connector also. From the alternator there is a brown and brown and white wire. At the bulk head connector is also two brown wires. I connected one of the browns from the alternator to one of the browns from the bulk head connector. I then connected the last wire. Now whats left is connecting a minimum of an 8 gauge wire from the the large alternator to the battery. I know this sounds very confusing and I have written this out 4 times already without being able to figure out a way to make it make more sense. The thing that made it easier is using a junction block I found at Autozone and ring terminals. I hop this helps.
