Problems with Aeromotive Adjustable FPR? Anyone else have this??

Had a hard start problem and a chugging problem for the first few seconds when I floor it. After a lot of searching Agostino Racing pulled off the vacuum line on the Aeromotive Adjustable FPR and when the ignition was turned on and the pump pressured the system fuel poured out of the line (Leaky diafram) So they change it and it ran fine for all the tuning and test drives.
I pick the car up go home which is 300 miles away. I started noticing the hard start again and and the car had no top end. SO I pulled off the line atthe top of the AFPR and sure enough it was wet. Then turn the ignition to the on position and out comes about a tea spoon of gas. I had heard Aeromotive had changed the design because of this problem.

QUESTION: I know this would cause the hard start but would it also cause drivability issues like no top end and a chugging when I down shift to 3rd on the high way hold it there for a second then pin it? Also anyone else have this problem? 2 times in less then 500 miles  Should I get them to go to another brand?

Thank you, Jason

I had same damn problem, those units SUCK. My brother also had this problem in his mustang. Pull vac if it leaks its screwed. My pressure went from 45WOT to 60WOT when i put a new ac-delco unit in. Just go with stocker the FPR is worthless with pcm anyway. AM FPRs suck and should never be bought, just .02.  Wasted money i hate that:mad:

My friend had his Aeromotive FPR get unstable while we were dynoing his car. Fuel pressure was stable until we starting adjust the regulator. Replaced it with a TPIS unit and the problem was solved.

I will check mine tomorrow. My car has been running crappy and that might be the culprit. My buddies Mustang has an Aeromotive FPR and it is leaking out of the top screw. Those guys must have a bad design going.

Who else makes/sells adjustable boost referenced fuel pressure regulators?

Let us know if that was it! ;)

As for other brands there is Accel, Holley, Hypertech, Metco to name a few. All LT1 Specific. I chose to go with a Holley now. I will let you know how it turns out.
