Repairing metal-revealing scratch

Hi all,

While washing my Z28 this afternoon I noticed a 1 cm by 5 mm scratch on the hood. Something must have hit it right on as the paint has totally flaked away in that area, leaving bare metal.

I have a small vial of touch-up paint left over from a previous touch up, but that was on a fiberglass part of the car.

Is there anything special I need to do -- or rather, should do, to repair this scratch on the hood?

i say take Q-tips and clean out the scratch really good with alcohol, then use primer before you put the paint, that way it will be a permanent fix...check out this link... http://www.toyotacelicas.com/informa...paintchip.html
