problems displaying smilies

all of a sudden my computer is not displaying smilies, all i get is a small box with a red X....

before the weekend (work computer) it was fine, is there something going on with the page or is it from my end?

and what would i look into to fix it?

How are you guys accessing the board that are having problems displaying smilies? Are you coming from the Main page of the site at http://www.camaroz28.com? Loading the message board directly at http://web.camaross.com/forums? An old bookmark?

I put some code in this past weekend to prevent people from linking to our smilies directly as well as other images.

every once in a while they wont load for me neither, more specifically the rating image, and the little envelope things. I'm coming in directly from web.camaross.com Sometimes it wont show em, sometimes it will:confused:

I noticed this happening occasionally with IE. I think it is a IE problem as I never experience it with Netscape or Mozilla.

I have seen nothing but boxes with red Xs for about 3 days. Also, the advertisements are just Xs. Darn it ;)

Nate, how did you get it? I'm having the same problem. I use IE, and I come in by typing www.camaross.com/forums
I don't use a bookmark, though it does show up as a cookie as I start to type... This started for me on Monday...

We have to go to a different address.

instead of www.camaross.com... it's web.camaross.com/forums :alert:

I've had this same problem too lately:think:. I always access the site via www.camaross.com/forums and it always used to work fine, but for probably two weeks now, it's only displayed the occasional smiley, and the rest are the "red X" in a box, or just a little "black dot" in a box??:confused:

I've tried accessing the site from work as well as home, and same problem?! I've even deleted all the stored "cookies" on the computer, and still no go?:confused:

Any way around this admins??

OK...........problem solved!:D I just logged on to WEB.camaross.com/forums instead of WWW.camaross.com/forums. It's working fine now;).
