Adding Sub to Stock System

Hey everyone, I'm getting ready to add a 10" sub to my stock system in my '97 SS, and need some help. This is what I have so far:

1: 10" sub w/stealth box form www.subthump.com
1: Stereo amp that is rated (quite generously) at 800watts RMS @ 4ohms when bridged into mono. This amp has line level, and speaker level inputs.
1: 1 farad capacitor.

I don't want to run the mid-bass speakers next to the rear passenger seats anymore, since they sit right next to my 3yr old son's head. I was planning on running the speaker wire going to these speakers into the speaker level inputs on the amp. Will I have any problems in doing this? This is a list of stuff I think I need: Power wire to run to the cap, and then to the amp. Two sets of ground wire. A distribution block, so that I can later easily add a second amp. An inline fuse between the battery, and the cap. Speaker wire from the amp to the sub.

What else do I need? Any suggestions?

That would work if your amp accepts speaker level imputs, but with that power it may not. I would personally use a line level converter like the PAC OEM-1. What sub are you gonna run, is it one of the eD beasts? 10A? I think I may go with a 15A

Don't be fooled by the amp rating, it has speaker level inputs. Like I said, it's "quite generously" rated at 800 watts when bridged into mono.:^) It's definetely on the lower end of the amp scale. The sub is a Lightning Bolt series. This setup is just a band-aid fix until I can afford better components later. I want to lay down the wire as though I'm putting in high power stuff now, so that I won't have to re-wire later.
How would I wire the remote turn on lead to the stock head unit?

OK, newbie question; how do I wire the remote turn on lead to the amp from the head unit? Since I'm retaining my stock amp also, could I just splice into the wire going to that amp for my new one?

for the remote wire, get a test light and find which wire gets power when you turn your key to the ON position, then just tap into that and run it to your amp.

So it's OK to tap into the wire going to the stock amp? I think I have a wiring diagram at home for the stereo. I may have a test light, but I'm not sure.
