no, it's not MY car, BUT i got to ride in my buddies 76 'vette yesterday. hes got a carb'd 355 w/ forged bottem end, TH350 with 2,800 stall, and the stock rear with 3.90s. he ran a 12.43 on motor and then sprayed a 150 out the gate and went a 10.86 @ 121 with a 1.40 60ft!!! hes got a pic of the car leaving with the front wheels about a foot off he ground.
so anyhoo, i broke my $hit on the first pass yesterday so he offers to let me borrow his truck/trailor to carry my car home. he followed in his car (yes, it's street legal and he drives on the sreet) to my house. how, ironic. we were carrying a 12 sec car on the trailor, and the ten second race car was following behind being driven:D . so we get to my house and we get the car off the trailor. he's getting ready to load his car on and he's like, "Wanna go for a ride?" i was in the passenger seat almost before he finished his sentence:)
as we're pulling out of my driveway on to a backroad he asked me what's the fastest car i've ever ridden in. well, the fastest was another friends 11.7 camaro. he smiles when i tell him and smacks the throttle on motor. the car had great pull. he lets off and we turn off on another side road. he stabs the throttle again on motor and gets into it pretty good into 2nd. then he turns around and comes back the same way. he puts it down in 1st and comes to a stop. to the left we notice two farmers out in their garden. they look up as we stop and grin. my buddy throws them a wave and filps the switch. he brings it up to about 2,5k or so and puts it to the carpet. we spun every bit of 200ft but at the same time moving FAST. i glance back and you cant even see the road. my buddy turns around again and rolls back, the farmers now looking like little school boys that just saw that new bike or something. i throw them another wave and they wave back. one yells, "Will she do it again?" im like, if they only knew. so my buddy comes to stop again and flips the switch, brings it up on the convertor a little, and...WHAMM!!! it felt like a mack truck hit us. we didnt spin at all that time, we were just moving. the front end got real light and we just hauled ass.
his car is awsome:bow: now i want a 10 second car:D
