and I blew it in the first round. Red light!
I did not even buy back in, I figured not only I red light but I also busted out on dial time, I dialed in a 11.75 and ran a 11.745, pretty close on dial but even if I did not red light I would have busted out.
So I said heck with it and went and watched everyone else to have a good time.
There is always next time. :D

Your reaction time does not affect your E.T. You would have broken out if you cut a .900 light or a .400 light if you weren't on the brakes at the end of the track.
It wasn't a points race was it? I never heard of buy-backs in points racing.
Yesterday was our 4th points race this season and it was the 2nd one that was rained out.

My season starts in at the beginning of May. There's still snow on the ground but it should be gone in a couple of days. The track will still be very cold for the first couple of races.
Sometimes it's better to just sit out the extra rounds just to save parts. You'll never know what will happen the next time down the track. If anything, you go back to make some test passes between the last few rounds when the cars want a bit more time for cool down and the track needs some filler for the fans to watch. Go out and practice reaction times then idle down the track.

Yup, it was a point's race.
Buy back first round only, buy-backs race buy-backs only, than they will be put back into the loop in the next round. They do pay-out less to those who bought back in and won versus those that did not buy back in.
Stephen - That's how I look at things, no since of putting to much strain on it, I should have just did some TnT and practiced on the tree.

How do they award points? Do you continue to receive points after you buy back into the race, or is it just getting back in to the race and not earning points?

At my home track you can buy back after 1st round. buybacks race each other 2nd round then they go into the mix they earn $$ only the points stop after your 1st round loss. The problem with this of course is the guy you bang out 1st round could come back and get you and end your points run in the third round. I 'm not crazy about the deal but the again I don't get a say anyway.

Exactly why I didn't think it was done. You could end up blocking people for friends to bump them up in points after you buyback in. BUT, at least there are no points earned after the first round loss.
I know they don't allow buybacks in the Summit points series at Atco or Maple Grove. They do allow it in the Bill Mitchell series though.

Your cars running good Ken. At my track you can buyback in first or second round and still keep points. You are penelized your highest 1 round total. So if you were going to earn 103 for a win you would get 92 instead. Makes for a long day. We ran one race this year with no buybacks and I loved it and won the race. Frank95z
