Everything I read says that our idle cell is 16. My car uses cell No. 4 always. I checked some of my old scans and they were cell 4 also. I have never seen my idle cell at 16. Can someone give me a possible explanation? I know this is limited info but I can post readings of what you guys think would be connected..
P.S. The reason I noticed this was because I have been fighting a split BLM at idle. 139/129.. Weja

What does your scan show for TPS voltage and TPP %? If it doesn't show 0% throttle at idle, I don't think its going to be in Cell 16.

TPS is .5 and 0%. I was wondering if the MAP could have something to do with it if the KP stays high somehow. I saw a chart someone posted showing the cells at 800,1000,1200. it listed cell 4 if KP's were 50 hg converted to about 10 MAP. don't really understand the conversion. Any clues. Weja

its cell 16 in open loop isnt it? 0% tps is cell 16 so it seems your blades might be sticking open a little. have you tried idling the car from open loop to closed loop to see if the car stays in cell 16?

I have never seen the car in cell 16, closed or open loop.
I believe the blades are closing all the way. I tried adjusting the throttle stop (IAC count) to the point that the blades were slightly sticking shut (IAC about 45). Could the blade be bent causing it to stick open but appear closed?
Would the TPP read somthing other than "0" % if the blade were sticking open or would the computer use the open point for "0"? thats the only way I could see the blade not closing all the way.
I am still wondering if the MAP (just under 10 at idle on scanmaster) has anything to do with this.
Keep up with the ideas, I appreciate it. Weja

idle MAP is only around 9-10 so thats normal.

if all is within spec, then what could be causing it to stay out of cell 16, other than the blade being open?
