What do you guys do to get a good launch? I have heard of power breaking and all types of stuff. I have an A4 so what can i do to get a good launch?

pretty much power brake it. hold the brake and idle the car up to about 2000 rpms i think thats just where the tires want to start moving then roll into it so u dont loose traction. its worked pretty good for me. just stay away from nuetral droping it no matter what pople may tell you.

You can use that method (holding upto ~2000 rpm), or you can go right off idle ---> usually you actually nail the gas on the last yellow light, and your car should cross the start line right on the green. In truth though, the instant "idle to full throttle" method may not be the best, since A) it will be a lot of sudden shock on your drivetrain, and may damage parts, and B) your car will be more likely to break traction, whereas like 94TEALz said, if you hold the brake and rev to ~2 grand, you'll have better control over wheel-spin off the line. AND, by "preloading" the drivetrain, there will be less sudden shock to it, and your R/T's can be a little quicker and more consistent as well;).

2 grand:confused: seems kinda high. I always thought it was more along the lines of 1200rpm when loading a stock TC on an LT1 car.

On another note...Damn Camaroguy22 you didn't waste any time getting into races with your new car:eek: :D

Ok, you guys say powerbrake it to 1500-2000 rpm's.... so at what MPH can you slam the gas without spinning the tires after the launch?

Yeah, racing is fun. I had a 3.4L 95 Camaro the last time, so my new one has a boat load more power so i got alot of questions about it. Knowledge is power haha :) So thank you, and that is a good question at what mph should you floor it?

I launch just off idle, at around 1200 rpm. That way the converter takes a full hit. Experiment with different launch techniques until you find the one that produces consiste times and allows you to cut consistent lights. You will need to stage the same way each time in order to quantify your consistency.
