Guys, I need your help

Story is I ordered some goods (knives actually) from www.completeknives.com which was a subsidiary of a Texas business called Northshore water sports.

A fellow by the name of Jim Irvine (owner and operator) charged my credit card on Dec 24, 2002 and I have yet to recieve anything even after numerous phone calls, emails etc.....he said he was going to refund, blah blah blah.

I was way to understanding as he was having problems with ebay and such.

Anyways, boom, his website is gone and phone # on the northshore water sports site has disconnected. That phone # is 281-326-2724.

This guy owes me 716 dollars, and i want it back.

Can anyone who is close to Clear Lake help a Canadian guy out and do a little recon to see if his business is there and to go see if you grab his phone # without alerting him?

I had a similar problem a few years ago with a torque converter. If it was on a credit card, all you have to do is call or write the CC company, and explain what happened. They will credit your card once they determine that you did in fact not receive your goods. Might take a month or so, but you will get it. It will also alert them about his business practices, and make it hard for him to get over on the next guy's card.

Sounds like trying to get any money from this guy is a waste of time, especially if his address and phone are no longer valid.

Drove by Northshore Water Sports at lunch time. The building is still there and it appears to be open. But it's really hard to tell, as in the winter time most of these tourist based businesses dry up. It may seem like it to you, but this area is no tropical paradise. The number for Northshore is (281)326-2724. Also I could not find a phone number for J. Irvine in the local area, only for J. Irvin??
Can't find a listing for them on the BBB either.
