Nashville Speed is out of the brackets. Does anyone know if B. Bishop is still making those brackets?

Thanks
Bora

E-mail Bob Bishop at lateapex@charter.net

All the info on the conversion is at www.nashvillespeed.com

This is my old company, I used to sell it as a complete package. We went out of biz though, Bob makes and sells only the adapter plates to fit the calipers, you'll have to buy all the GM parts (rotors, calipers, etc. etc.) yourself, but all the part numbers, instructions, etc. are on the website above.

Let me know how much he wants for the brackets bora.

I wonder if the can design a bracket to let us use a bigger caliper and rotor on the rear brakes. They are so dinky.

ZDriver96, e-mail Bob Bishop at lateapex@charter.net He has excellent news for the front brackets.

Rear brakes are sufficient (IMHO) for these cars and can be made even better with some Hawk (or Performance Friction) pads. Fronts are plain insufficient and dangerous.

Ill give bob a shout..

I actually just put on my LS1 brakes this week with napa performance pads.

Im a complete jack ***.. Im never satisfied with my cars performance. Im happy with the LS1 brakes but i drive Cars with superior brakes all the time and it makes me want better brakes..

Putting 13's on the front will make the rear brakes look silly too imo

You are absolutely right. How about the LS1 rear brakes? Are they any bigger than LT1 rear brakes?

nah they are the same... the vettes rears are tiny too..

You should feel how a BMW 330i stops with its big front rotors and big rear rotors and calipers. Think 13's in front and 12's in back.

Plus i think it'd be better for handling having bigger rears.... so the fronts dont dip down so much before going into a turn.

Don't know the 330i, but I have a 2002 BMW M3 6sp. It has very strong brakes. I bought the car in Germany and drove there for about 8 months. Braking with confidence over 160 mph on the autobahn makes you think about how flimsy the brakes on the LT1 Camaro.

Click to see the M3 and the Z28..

All '98+ F-bodies have 12" rear brakes that are a larger than LT1 front brakes. C5's also have 12" rear brakes, and use the same caliper.

Brake Conversion

I emailed Bob and he is out of what he calls his "First Generation" conversion bracket. He is working on designing a new bracket that will not require cutting the spindle.

hehehe, I have one extra set of the "first generation" bracket, but they ARE NOT FOR SALE

Its an extra set in case I ever wreck the car and/or break/bend a spindle.

I know as soon as I post this I'll get 3 e-mails from people asking me how much I want for them

Anyway, that's just me making innane chit-chat. Valuable info follows:

Bob's gen 2 bracket will be smaller, lighter (w/o sacrificing strength, because it will be 304 stainless steel) and also less expensive. The original brackets were $225 per set.

Just for a point of reference I overheard a rep from Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet at the Corvette Museum F-body gathering last fall telling someone that the GMMG cars (Intimidator, ZL1, Berger, Tom Henry SS, etc.) used a set of brackets to put the C5 brakes on them that was $500 per set!!! Don't know who they used but they got ripped.

email Bob Bishop. He will have the new plates available pretty soon (304 stainless, lighter and cheaper).
