Hey everyone, I was refered to this board by a friend and here I am. Im only a camaro/corvette enthusiast. I do actually have a 68, but it was destroyed by a bad very body shop so its final destiny is probably rotting away to nothing. (Good Advice tip of the day: Al's Custom Paint in Ypsilanti, Michigan are HACKS).

None the less, Im a Ford employee, I drive Ford Cars to work, but my toys all have a Bow Tie on em! Ive got a 65 GTO with a BBC and muncie 4 speed. I live in Detroit area, and go to every swap meet, car show or cruise I can get my Mustang to.

See ya round town

Thanks for the Welcome, That would be great. I live about 5 minutes from the 50's McD's and about 2 seconds from Telegraph.

The GTO is currently completely disassembled. Its been a frame off resto/mod so its taking a little while longer then Id hoped. About 2 years longer, lol. Its sitting in the garage with no front clip, no interior except the 6 pt roll bar. Right now Ive got about 3 projects goin on it. I discovered the block had a minor crack in it, (But still a crack) that I had to have welded. So the motor is on the stand waiting to be reassembled. I got a Moser 9" rear end for it which Im working on piecing together, and Im slowly working on getting the Dash and other pieces inside the car painted so I can put the interior back in it.

Wont be on the road this year, at least I dont think it will anyways. So Look for me in a Performance Red Mustang GT convert, Im at 50's mcds pretty much every friday and saturday that Im not at milan.

see ya this summer!

I live by Joy and Telegraph but me and my buddies usually cruise down that way on weekends. If you see a silver 96 Z28 w/ t-tops accompanied by a sonic blue 03 Mustang GT vert, 02 red Z28, black 93 Mustang GT, silver 01 GT, maroon 89 GT, and possibly an 03 Cobra or anyone of those thats me. All the newer cars belong to Divine Child kids of course. Ahh to be rich.

Hey, another Dearborn Heights guy! Yeah, the 50's McDonalds is a cool place to hang out. Telegraph road has been making me mad lately, with all of it's pot-holes, especially near Michigan Avenue. Oh well, I'll probably see you out there this summer.

Hey, welcome. I'm quite new myself, and everyone has made me feel quite at home.

Didn't Pontiac do a concept of a new GTO recently?

Oh well, the older ones are the good ones anyway!

Welcome to the board. To bad about the Camaro.
I cut my teeth on a 64 GTO that had the Royal Bobcat kit. My brother had the car and when he went to Nam I got to drive it until he got back. I also had a 68 GTO. 5 of my buds had goats also. This was in the day. My one friend Randy had a 70 Judge. Randy also had 2 65 GTO's a red one and a blue one. His brother Bob had a 64 GTO that was a rust bucket but it had a L88 out of a Vette. That car was so ugly but it was so fast. I was riding with him on Gratiot one night and a guy with a 440 6 pac GTX with his very hot looking girl friend pulled up next to us at a light. Bob yelled over at him and ask if he wanted to race for a $100.00. The guy said he was affraid something would fall off Bob's rust bucket. Bob told the guy that he would but up $100.00 and if the guy lost his girl friend had to ride with us for the night. The light changed and it was on. When bob hit second gear we were about 2 cars up. by the time Bob shifted to 3rd he was about 5 or 6 cars up. When we pulled up to the next light the guys girlfirend was laughing like crazy. Bob told him it was ok his girl friend didn't have to ride with us but not to be so cockey next time. It was alot more fun back then as there were no ricers and nobody drove trucks. Everyone had a muscle car back them. Not to say I don't have fun with the guys and gals here.
Again welcome to the board.:)

I was told they will be in our dealerships this sept., not just in production. dont everyone forget you can get them w/the 6 speed or the auto, thank god. they will be somewhat limited the first year, so dont exp. to see them on the lots for too long. I also cant wait to see/drive them.

Oh man, don't do that.;) Your 65 Goat is a piece of muscle car history. The new GTO is just a re-hashed car from Australia that bears a disturbing resemblance to a Grand Am/Prix. Keep the money, and spend it on your goat. :D
