Reliable? Expensive?

Hows the camaro reliable wise.. and $$$ wise also.. Do you find yourself spending tons and tons of money just to keep it running? I want to get a Z.. but I've been reading some posts and it seems like it might cost a lot, and might be down for awhile.. But I dunno, I am just getting paranoid or something, I got the money, its just I am getting a Z for a nice cruising weekend car, and taking it to the track a few times a year..

They are very reliable! I'm the original owner of a 1995 and no problems... If there was a problem, it was because I wanted to upgrade. There are a lot of knowledgable people on this site who can help you if you get stuck. Don't be afraid. Now that you are on the internet, we've got pictures and diagrams to help.

As for price, since you are in the LT1 section... obviously you're looking at a 93-97. Price could be from $4000 - $9000 unless it is collectable for some reason.

Do you have a particular year? The 93 -95 are OBD-I Computers and the 96-97 are OBD-II. I've got a 95 and the computer is relatively easy to work with and tune.

Very reliable, cost to start is mild, cost for upgrades.... don't ask. The desire for more speed is addictive.

well reliability will depend on how you treat it really. You will likely have to replace the optispark at some point, which is expensive if you don't do it yourself. If you beat it a lot, the tranny and rear end will start going...
