Will a passenger side outer door handle fit on the drivers side?

My drivers side black trim paint has chipped off horribly...I can however get a passenger side handle for like $3 at the junkyard...Will it fit?
Remember...the handle on the outside...that you lift up to get INTO the car Thanks guys

Wait are you wanting a new door handle, key locks, or both?

BTW On my locks I taped them off and got some sand paper sanded off the black and got some polish and a buff wheel and polished them.

I think I am going to tape everything off and spray paint them...
Should I use some kind of primer?
