who's got an ss fiberglass hood

Anyone members on here got an aftermarket ss fiberglass hood on their rides?

(1) How long have you had it?
(2) How is it holding up so far?
(3) Do you have hood pins?
(4) Have you taken it to the track w/o hood pins?
(5) What is the life expectancy on fiberglass hoods?
(6) Thank you for answering all my questions and may god bless you all

They are thicker than you think. The only way they'd just come flying off is if you didn't install both latches on the hood. You'll most likely never rip the bolt holes out just driving it.

Mine is made by American Sports Car, whoever that is?
It fits really good and looks really good too.
I have had it since early 2003 and it still is in great shape.
I do not have hood pins and I highly doubt that you need them.
I have taken it to the track w/o hoodpins and had no problems.
I have gone over 140mph w/o hoodpins and have had no problems. When you go that fast it starts to wiggle some but it aint going nowhere.

The only complaint I have about mine is that the little plastic grille that comes with it is really crappy. I need to get another one, it hasnt fit right since day one and the older it gets the worse it looks. Other than that, which I'm sure doesnt cost much, I have absolutely no complaints with the hood.

I have a VFN ss hood and I have run it at the track with out pins. It is a stock style hood in that it makes use of all the original hood mounting and bolting hardware. Mine is thick and sturdy. I have no second thoughts on wheather my hood is a quality piece.
