wheel polishing

Ok im getting really tired of my wheels. I took my car the the paint shop and they painted it. I got the car back and the wheels are all dull and white spots on all on them...I took it back to the shop and said my wheels were shinny when i brought it here and no there not. They said use mothers chrome polish and it will come off (buffing compound) So i went home and tried it. It is comming off very SLOWY! Im getting tired and so are my fingers. Is there anything else I can do to get them to shine again or am I stuck? I have to polish each spoke about 5-6 times to get it semi back. WTF do I do?

thanks
matt

I had a problem with this once, during the painting process, they probably got some overspray on your wheels, thus making them very hard to polish. Try hitting them with a clay cleaning bar first, then come back with the polish and see how it works.
