Whats a good price to pay for a paint job?

Im just wondering. I have a black 95 TA(duh!)...the paint has many marks and minor scratches...along with a few deeper ones(like key marks). How much would you say a GOOD Black paint job would be for the whole car? Like comparable to the stock paint job, or just slightly better. No show car amazing stuff. Just wondering if anyone here has experience with it. It would be cool to start over with a flawless paintjob..and start building up the coats of Zaino

Luckily, you are looking at repainting in black, the same color you have.

I can't tell you a price, but you can get a fantastic black paintjob (just as long as everything is edge-straight) for the same price as you getting a decent, say, bright color paintjob.

5-8 grand I hope it changes color. It should be around $1500 give or take a few hundred. Espically if you leave things like the inside of the trunk out of the picture.

Yeah, $1500, could between 2 and 3 thousand if the best paint products are used.

Just material for mine is $1100. I got it at cost which was still a little over $500 for DuPont chroma premier SOM paint, clear, basemaker, etc. But I'll need a lot of paint because I'm changing color and the jams and whatnot will have to be painted. A friend of mine works at a body shop and he is going to borrow the booth to spray it for me and finish off the body work from my t-top install and install my gnd effects for $450. So I'll have around a grand in it. Most bodyshops said they wouldnt touch it for under 2500-3000 starting price for an all over paint job ,excluding jambs, using their brand of paint (which is decent but not that high quality) staying the same color ,which was black, and no body work at all.

I gotta know where you guys are getting quality paint jobs for $1500 I've always been quoted 3000 minimum for decent materials and staying the same color. A different color, great paint, and a little body work and you can easily get into the 7-8k range.
