Whats the deal with this part of my car not being color matched?

Whats the deal with this part of my car not being color matched?

Check out the picture - I circled the part I'm talking about-

http://www.headrushperformance.com/strange.jpg

I've seen a bunch of members pictures with that being color matched. All official 35th anniversary Camaros seem to have it color matched. My model that I bought off of Ebay of a Camaro 35th has it color matched?

I dont like it black. I want it red =)

What is the rhyme or reason for this being or not being color matched? Did they just... not feel like doing it on some cars?

It's an option to have that and the mirrors color matched.

Ok, all V8 equipped Camaro's (Starting in 1993) got the Black Sail panel, roof and mirrors. In 1995, you could start ordering color matching sail panels, roof and mirrors. On the other hand, V6 models got color matching roof, sail panels and mirrors and the black painted versions were options on them. So it's really up to the person ordering the car. I like the red/black contrast in my 1993 Z28, but that's just me.

I have a black camaro so I dont have to worry about it but personally I like the black roof on camaros but I hate the colored side mirrors... I think your car looks sweet the way it is, but its as simple as taking it to the paint shop to fix your problem.

I thought all T-top cars had the black tops, only the hardtop versions had the matched top.

Interesting. Never thought about it.

Perhaps it does look better black.

I'm not sure if tinted windows would look -that- good in contrast with the red paint though. Any good tinted pictures?

Nope, mine's a hardtop and has the black top. There's a 97 Camaro Z in our club who's got T's and a white sail panel w/ black mirrors. It's all up to how you wanted it when you ordered it.

Check out page 1 in my sig. I have the all black top, but with tinted windows. I thinks it looks 10x better that way.
