tinted headlights

do you guys know of any one that makes headlights for 93-97 camaros that are tinted, i don't want to get the headlight covers as they make lighting at night even worse than what they are.
i think black headlights would look cool but i dont want to comprimise too much light at night time, any ideas.......thanks.

I highly doubt you'll find black headlights ANYWHERE. Your best bet to get this look is to use VHT Nite Shades spray to do it yourself. btw, even if you were to find a black headlight, the light probably wouldn't be much brighter than if you were to use headlight covers. It's basically doing the same thing to the light....blocking it out.

Yeah, no matter what you do, if it looks darker, odds are it'll block light, as as it has been said, 93-97 camaros got shafted the big one in optics... I think our headlights put out barely enough as it is. I say get clear covers at least, as those pockets are an aerodynamic nightmare

I've seen a lot of cars that get the headlight covers and paint them to match the color of the car for day use, and that can look pretty cool.

Yah, i've always wondered what is up with that ****.
One conversion kit by AutoOptiks and from what I hear it is a half-assed one at that.

What about the GTS projector beam headlight covers? They are dark but have the circles where most of the light shines through that are clear? Just an idea.

I think black tint would inhibit seeing at night, I do not see how either one would be better at night.

Unless my headlights have already been upgraded I dont see the problem here. The lighting on my LT1 is far superior to the truck im used to driving around.

Mine are tinted....but tinted blue. I did a litte housing mod and changed it from the stock sealed to replaceable bulbs and put a 9k color HID kit in it. Fairly simple and can now hold any 9006 bulb including the Silver Stars.

Don't know how you would just tint them black though

My HID Conversion

Bright as H3LL

I went for the FF75 conversion, and the optics rock, but I get people flashing their highs at me all the time, and that was annoying enough... Anyway, my 94' Bravada with Silverstar sealed beams is above and beyond superior to the camaro stock lights... do a search, most say the auto-optiks suck... I am going to modify the stock housings to accept 9006/9005 bulbs - that's just honestly cheaper and easier then working the FF75's, but the FF75's look awesome...

jameyab- did you do an HID kit with HID ballasts, or are you saying it "looks like HID"?

No, they are real HID's. Bought a kit off of e-bay for about $350. Ballast, bulbs and all the mounting equip. I just had to make sure to get the bulbs that were designed for non-projector housings or else everyone would be fashing me too (which they still do!!! )

Here is a link to a set very similar to what I bought.

of course mine doesn't have the high beam with it

Yeah and most likely a true HID's low beams are as good or better then the 4351's and 4352's combined...

Okay, what I did was buy to stock replacment low beams. They look sealed but all they are is 9006's with some goo sealing them with a screw washer. take that off and replace with Silver Stars or buy a HID kit like I did and use some really strong epoxy to seal the HID bulb in the case. I havn't had any problems and neither has my friend in his 95 that I did it tool.
