tint dot matrix?

tint dot matrix?
spoke to the tint shop about getting a show quality finish on the dot matrix.
I suggested they stop at the dot matrix and cover it in vinyl. The guy who owns the place said the vinyl would have to be on the outside of the window.
Should I be able to put the vinyl on the inside of the window with no problems or would painting it be a better option? What is the best way to acheive show quality?

I've never heard of it going on the outside of the window. I painted the inside of mine, after some discussion here.

Re: tint dot matrix?
I am not very good at paint so I had my friend come over and spray it. We used duplicolor engine enamel. Went to 3 different stores none had flat black so we used low gloss black. I wiped it down good with rubbing alcohol. He insisted On spraying it all at once insead of doing coats. It looked perfect, let it dry overnight. Came back teh next morning parts of it were still perfect but on the corners and in the middle it looks like the paint bubbled around the dots just like the tint would Had to go buy paint thinner and spend the afternoon removing it :blah: Not sure what to do now. What would cause this? Is it just because we didnt do it in light coats?

Re: tint dot matrix?
I put black electrical tape 1/8" above the highest defroster line and followed that across the whole window and then razor knifed the tint and gently peeled it off. I then cleaned it real well and went to Walmart and got some hobbie enamal used for glass (Flat black) and painted it one coat at a time untill no light showed through and it looks spectacular. From the outside it matches the factory blackout on the window edges and I am more than happy not to see them hazy dots anymore
