Time for a new paint job

Girlfriends dad backed into my car the other day. I'm done driving her now untill i do the body work and repaint it. I'm thinking of changing the color up.Maybe a little pearl after the base coat or maybe a complete different color like antifreeze green? I'm starting to see a few orange camaros rolling around and it's pissing me off because they are generally riced out v6's. What's your guys opinions? Here is a pic of the damage, worst spot ever to get hit.

That's an AWFUL place to get hit. Man.

Go with Lamborghini Verde Ithaca green. I've yet to see a completed 4th gen get that paint color, and I've been waiting for years.

Re: Time for a new paint job

I personally think everything always looks better on a '93-'02. But it'd still be cool. I'd prefer it without the stripes though. sykodave's pics don't capture that color. It's gorgeous in person.

Re: Time for a new paint job

I would go with a darker color, like maybe blue. Maybe you could look at the colors the newer Camaros or Corvettes are offered in and see which one you like best.

Here's one that looks nice. Belongs to 94CamaroZ28SS on LS1tech.

Re: Time for a new paint job

I think you should find a local paint store and talk to them about making your own color I know out here where Im at they dont charge you anything to do it and from what they told me its actually cheaper if you make your own color instead of picking a factory color from a book. You can take a color you really like and add a lil somethin to it to make it your own that way you dont have to worry about those v6's having the exact same color. The only downside to doin that is most body shops wont warranty the paint job if you bring your own paint.

Re: Time for a new paint job

Better get the paint mixer to write down the exact formula for you if you get something custom or you'll never get an exact match in case of accident.

The mixer should print out and put the formula on the can just for those purposes if they don't you WILL be screwed if you need to match the color.
