Re: Targa Top

So far that has only been done by Whistler, and believe me when I say he has MAD skills. If you can lay and shape carbon fiber, and feel you have the skills to chop up your car, go for it. Otherwise, give up on the idea.

Re: Targa Top

Targa top is missing the center bar. I would run a search for the thread of the conversion, its all been covered there. The difficult part is going to be making the targa roof. It would have to be pretty strong.

Re: Targa Top

I talked to him about a year and a half ago and it was going to cost over a $1000 for him to build the roof. I ended up not having the money together to get it done.

Re: Targa Top

he hasnt been the only one buddy

he made the actual top him self??????

dude, look...all you have to do is take you headliner off and see if you can visualize what the roof is going to look like. what your going to do with your brackets, which way pieces of metal are going to fold, where to make cuts. If you cant see that then just forget about unless you seriously think you can do this.

if you think thats hard why not try my projects! I'm working on my fender right now, and chopping the roof off of a 93 eclipse. the guy came to me and ask if i could do it and i said yeah...but your in charge of the windshield! I had to sign a contract with him though.

Nope he's not the only one that has it done, Ihave had mine done for about a year now. I did it all my self. Go to my link to see pics, I have new pics my page just need to be updated. I have new headliner piller covers and seals since they were taken.

Re: Targa Top

So how do you reinforce that structural integrity of the car when you cut out that support beam

Subframe connectors, panhard bar, etc. Yea its gonna lose a lot of structural integrity but you can make up for a lot of it by upping your suspension.
