sportline front springs with stock rears for a raked look?

I have sportlines front and back right now and I have about 2" of clearance with my exhaust. I'd like a little more clearance so I was thinking of sticking the stock springs back in the rear. It might look pretty cool but who knows. How would this affect performance/ride?

me three. I was thinking of doing this on my car. I was wondering how it would look and how it would effect traction performance.

Just my opinon but I say don't do it. With my ground effects I really can't afford to lower my Camaro but I hate the fender gap so I'm buying Ground Control coilovers. They're completely adjustable from 0 to 4". So you can raise and lower the rear end so it'll look just the way you like it and then you can always change it later.

This is what it looks like when only the front is lowered. This car belongs to a friend who had a tubular K-member installed and it dropped the front end.

that's a VERY subtle change, IMO, with just the front lowered. It's that rear wheel gap that give it the stocker appearance I think. But if you really look at it...you notice the front's a little lower.

I actually think that loks pretty good. 315's would make it look better.

That doesn't look half bad, it just look's stock. Maybe I'll just reweld the exhaust higher (I think I have an inch or so before the x crossover hits the torque arm). I'd hate to loose the look I have now for something that looks stock.

Not sure what springs are on my car, but my front is lowered and the rear is not (bought it this way). Sometimes I like the look, but sometimes I don't. There really is quite a bit of gap. However, put some 28" tires on the back and the gap goes away and it looks badass cause it's raked, but there is no gap in either the front or back.

Our cars already have a "Raked" look to them, most anyone who looks at your car will not see the difference unless they look again.

Did your friend notice any traction/performance problems? I want to do it more for the extra clearance underneath rather than the look.

Where in the exhaust are you looking for clearance?

I need clearance right under the x crossover which is right behind the tranny.

The amount of clearance that you'll gain in that area is going to be negligable. I was looking for clearance in that same general area, the crossmember for my Spohn torque arm for 4" exhausts (replacement for the tunnel brace). I figured that when I put my 28" ET Streets on it would help me out since I was effectively raising the rear of my car 1" from the ground. The difference in clearance isn't really even noticable, and on the down side, the added rake makes my air dam scrape even more when the suspension rebounds.
