Spoiler and Wheels

How hard are the modifications to put a 1998+ SS Wing on a 1996 Z-28 Convertible? Also, will 17x9 Z06 wheels fit on my car? Why can't I put 17x11 ZR-1 Wheels on the rear of my car. They say the convertible does not have enough room. Is this true?

Wow! If you are able to do it, it will look badass.

A buddy of mine had real GM Grand Sport 17x11's on the back of his 97 30th SS convertible, and they fit just as well, if not better than the same wheels on my 94 Formula coupe. In working the wheel wells in his convertible for even larger drag tires, I couldn't see any dimensional differences between the convertibles and the coupes. There is some additional reinforcement behind the inner fenders in a couple of spots, but that doesn't come into play until you try some really wide slicks. Just means you need a bigger hammer...... .

A popular wheel store said that they were too wide and that the convertibles are built differently. Did your friend have to use spacers or do anything besides putting the wheel on?

The backspacing on the ZR1's and the GS's are different. You can get a set of GS wheels, then have them powdercoated any color you want.
