scratches on windshield
anyone have these on their windshield from the wipers? should I just get a new windshield, or will the scratches buff out? It doesn't hinder me from driving, its just annoying and I think it looks tacky. Is there anyway I can loosen up the wipers so they don't press down so hard on the windshield?

Wow........scratches from the wipers - that sucks.
I'm afraid I don't know how to get rid of the scratches......
Are they made of some kind of super hard material? Have you changed the blades to a different kind?

Re: scratches on windshield
Well when I got the car, the scratches were there. One of the first thing I did was get new windshield wipers. When they aren't being used, they press down on the windshield, and it makes the rubber on the wipers bend one way, so when I turn them on, they work like crap and make this grinding noise until they get going good.

Unfortunately you'll need to replace the windshield. I bought a camaro with scratches from the wipers (someone must have used them a lot while dry???). I called around, but they can't be buffed out because it makes bad distortions in the glass.
When you get new glass, factory glass was about $500, but SafeLite autoglass had windshields for like $250. But they make their own, and you get what you pay for. Mine had distortions right in front of the driver's view. I made them change it out .. for one with distortions in the passenger's view. Maybe your insurance will buy you a new one.
