removing spots from aluminum?

removing spots from aluminum?
I was trying to clean some gasket goop from my aluminum valve covers and accidentally got some of the spray on my polished covers. Now they are spotted with these whitish looking stains. Is there a way to remove these stains?

You can try the mother's powerball with their aluminum polish.
